Bihar Caustic reports excellent performance for Q2 FY 2005-06

• Net sales at Rs. 3342.03 lakh, up 27 per cent
• Net profit at Rs. 907.38 lakh, up 28 per cent

Bihar Caustic & Chemicals Limited, a subsidiary of Hindalco has reported excellent result for the quarter ending September 2005. The company has achieved net sales of Rs. 3342.03 lakh, an increase of 27 per cent, vis-à-vis Rs.2628.73 lakh attained in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Its net profit (after deferred tax) rose by 28 per cent at Rs. 907.38 lakh as against Rs. 708.88 lakh for the corresponding quarter last year.

Bihar Caustic & Chemicals produces caustic soda, liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid and sodium hypo chlorite used mainly in the aluminium, paper and steel sectors and for water treatment plants. Among its major customers are Hindalco, TISCO, TELCO, SAIL and NTPC.
