We are growing in different sustainable bio-refinery products that are of an increasing interest for different customer segments such as viscose fiber producers, medical and chemical industries as well as fuel for transportations. Sustainable raw materials for production of recyclable and sustainable products in comparison with oil-based products support the long-term development of the industry, which is facing environmental problems and declining availability of oil.

India constitutes a large and strongly growing market with a high degree of self-sufficiency. The international Aditya Birla Group is of great interest for those who want to develop their skills and experience and also increase their cultural understanding that will be increasingly important for higher management positions. The challenge will not be to interest younger professionals to different positions in different countries but to arrange their social surroundings such that they can easily adapt to new cultures and countries along with their families, so that they stay long enough to gain experience as well as contribute to the organisation.

(Part of the Aditya Birla Group, DomsjÖ Fabriker is a bio-refinery that produces products and energy with a clear environmental profile from renewable raw material from the forests. As well as specialty cellulose, DomsjÖ produces lignin and bio-ethanol).

A few key achievements of our company:

  • Manufacturing of high-quality dissolving grade pulp;
  • Established in an industrial combine with optimal utilisation of raw materials;
  • Creating value from effluent streams by refining discharges to valuable energy as biogas;
  • Establishing a chlorine-free manufacturing process with a low impact on the environment.

The challenges we face currently are:

  • Over-capacity in dissolving pulp manufacturing as well as in viscose staple fiber manufacturing creating low profitability;
  • Focus on quality stability and manufacturing efficiency and finding new customers and customer applications with higher values.
